 descriptionThis Mirage located in the remote villages of the archipelago of Vanuatu has long been kept secret ... until now. Ratua Island is a wild and magic with people who offer a genuine warm and friendly welcome in a beautiful natural setting. The island of 146 acres is also home to horses, ponies, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and chickens that roam freely across the island. In 2004, the owners decided to sail around the world. After a year in the Atlantic Ocean they crossed the Panama Canal to meet the vast Pacific and visit some of its islands: Galapagos, Marquesas, Tuamotus, Cook, Samoa and Fiji. In June 2005 they arrived in New Caledonia, where one of their friends Durand Patrick Gaillard lived for 20 years. Patrick talked about them once the archipelago of Vanuatu, and a particular location, a jewel of an island whose location was kept secret. So the journey began July 6, 2005. Of the volcanic island to the south, Tanna, they sailed north of the island Etaf, the capital and its port, then Epi, Ambrym, Malakula and finally, Espiritu Santo. One by one, each island the height of their charm. Here time has stood still, intact tribal communities have kept their ancestral customs, nature has been preserved, consumerism had not yet reached this region. Finally, nestled between Aore and Malo, south of Espiritu Santo was Ratua: their ultimate destination. The island of beauty, in its greenery, has received a preserved sanctuary, wild but accessible. Immediately they decided to adopt the island, and after a few encounters, the former premises have entrusted their treasures to their care.

Ratua Island is a wild and magic with people who offer a genuine warm and friendly welcome in a beautiful natural setting. The island of 146 acres is also home to horses, ponies, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and chickens that roam freely across the island. In 2004, the owners decided to sail around the world. After a year in the Atlantic Ocean they crossed the Panama Canal to meet the vast Pacific and visit some of its islands: Galapagos, Marquesas, Tuamotus, Cook, Samoa and Fiji. In June 2005 they arrived in New Caledonia, where one of their friends Durand Patrick Gaillard lived for 20 years. Patrick talked about them once the archipelago of Vanuatu, and a particular location, a jewel of an island whose location was kept secret. So the journey began July 6, 2005. Of the volcanic island to the south, Tanna, they sailed north of the island Etaf, the capital and its port, then Epi, Ambrym, Malakula and finally, Espiritu Santo. One by one, each island the height of their charm. Here time has stood still, intact tribal communities have kept their ancestral customs, nature has been preserved, consumerism had not yet reached this region. Finally, nestled between Aore and Malo, south of Espiritu Santo was Ratua: their ultimate destination. The island of beauty, in its greenery, has received a preserved sanctuary, wild but accessible. Immediately they decided to adopt the island, and after a few encounters, the former premises have entrusted their treasures to their care.
