 descriptionIt is believed that Kinosaki Onsen dates back to about 1400 years ago. The first appearance of Kinosaki Onsen on a document was in Kokinwakashu (Collection of Ancient and Modern Japanese Poetry) which included a tanka composed by Fujiwarano Kanesuke about Kinosaki Onsen. It seems that Kinosaki was a place for relaxation for Heian Nobles. During the Ansei years (1854-1860) at the end of Edo period Sahei, Nishimura the first who moved from Wakasa Province to Kinosaki obtained the former Kumihana magistrate's office. Located next to the Gosho-no-Yu public bathhouse. Then he opened the Nishimuraya ryokan on that spot. Since then Nishimuraya has been beloved by many people for approximately 150 years as an "inn ofrelaxation.". - meta_description_for_layoutTwenty sail boats on the river Oigawa, in the district of Arashiyama reproducing a water festival millennium. Every year we see a show full of grace. This event originated in a reception ceremony of the Emperor when he came to visit this place. After a ritual celebrated at the shrine at noon, people dressed in ancient costumes cross the beautiful bridge Togetsukyo and boarded the boats. The costumes are very colorful kimono and children in especially touching. The boats are decorated in bows in the shape of dragon heads or phoenix. In each boat is assigned a specific role: the music played by traditional musicians, dancing or poetry reading. Speaking fans of all colors are left over from the water by women wearing the court dress made ??up of 12 kimono bunk, known as the juni-Hito. The show is the most graceful and unique experience.
